Local Energy Alternatives Festival

The Third Annual Local Energy Alternatives Festival will include FREE presentations and workshops throughout the day on energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable living
and re-skilling. Presentations include Vermont Public Radio commentator Ron Krupp, author of Woodchuck's Guide to Gardening and Lifting The Yoke: Local Solutions
To America's Farm And Food Crisis, speaking about extending our growing season. Ellen Ogden, nationally recognized kitchen garden expert, cookbook author and
co-founder of The Cook's Garden, will discuss how to design, grow, and creatively use a kitchen garden. Peter Hirst, all the way from Massachusetts, will introduce
us to the ancient soil amendment called biochar, which you can make at home. Ron Langdon of Robie Farm, a family farm in Piermont, NH will talk about cheese

Pat Parenteau of Vermont Law School, will give this year's keynote address, Fossil Fuel-Aholics Anonymous °© A Twelve Step Program To End The Addiction & Save
The Planet. He is an inspiring and knowledgeable speaker who specializes in energy depletion and climate change. There are also excellent follow-up workshops after
the keynote on Transition Towns and Climate Change to continue the discussion.

Elsewhere in Bradford live musical groups will add a festive atmosphere to the huge farmer's and artisan's market, featuring local foods and other local products.
Activities for children and youth will be staged at various locations. A production called "Fashion on a Shoestring", a fashion show featuring Oxbow High School students
modeling recycled clothing from area thrift stores, will show that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look great.
