What’s going on at the Co-op?
Don’t miss our Anniversary Picnic right around the solstice. We have a free cookout for the community with activities for the kiddos and free raffles.
Every First Friday we celebrate our community from 4 to 6pm with music product demos and free food samples at the store. Come by and chat with friends, listen to some great tunes put out by local musicians, and sample products and food prepared just for you. Learn about programs and offerings at the Co-op. Plus a 5% discount to all from 4 to 6:30pm.
The Annual Meeting each fall is an event not to be missed. We put on a potluck party with door prizes, guest speakers, music and plenty of information about what we’ve been working on over the last year. It’s the perfect time to exercise your rights as members by voting for new board of directors candidates. This year the annual meeting will be held on Saturday, October 5th at the Bugbee Center right across the street from us on North Main.
Keep an eye out for Food Drive events. We collect food to benefit the Upper Valley Haven and other local organizations. In addition to the day-old bread that the Haven picks up from us each day, the Co-op calls out to the Community in concert with the growing season and holidays, asking folks to donate. In the early summer we also collect plants to fill out our food shelf plots at the WRJ Community Garden. Later in the season these donation plants and seeds will yield fresh food for the Haven.
The Co-op organizes in-store events and workshops . Look for Customer Appreciation Days, Our Birthday Celebration , and SuperWorker Appreciation events . Catch a public forum upstairs in our Gathering Room. Hear the latest information concerning food and our local food supply. There are plenty of informal learning opportunities to be found at the Co-op.
The Membership Drive is another fun time to get to know the folks at the Co-op. Members of the Board of Directors man the booth for the week of the drive. Tell them what you like about the Co-op and what is important to you about your food supply. Pay another installment on your membership, update your information and sign-up for a class while you have a chat with the fine folks here working to provide great service and reliable resources to you.
