To serve as an educational hub for community members of all ages to learn fiber crafts, donate and repurpose gently used materials, and empower people through skill building.
Registration is required for all Sew-op Classes and closes 48 hours prior to the start of class. You can register and pay on the Co-op’s website.
Intro to Quilting Saturday, September 23rd, 9am-noon
Learn basic quilting techniques while making a quilted table runner. The design will be a simple pattern that can be worked in fabrics for any season. Fast and easy and makes a great gift! Use the same skills taught in our Basic Sewing class and learn a few more. Materials posted in event page on uppervalleyfood.coop calendar. **Prior Basic Sewing or equivalent sewing skills needed to take this class. Registration required: $30 for members, $35 for non-members. Class limited to four students, ages 14 and up. There is a three person minimum sign-up to hold this class. Basic Sewing Sunday, September 24th, 1-3pm
Learn the basics of sewing machines and how to operate them; gain understanding of fabric; and how to pin and sew seams. You will make a simple project to take home. Machines and all supplies are provided (sorry, no personal machines for basic classes). Registration required: $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Class limited to four students, ages 14 and up. Two student minimum to hold a class. Register and pay online here.
If online payment is not possible to achieve then alternative means can be provided by reaching out to Jen in Education and Outreach using email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Payment in cash or by check will need to be in-hand prior to the 48 hour window.
If a class does not meet the minimum level of participants before the 48 hour window the class will be cancelled. Full refunds will be given if the class is cancelled on behalf of the Co-op.
