The Sustainable Living Room (SLR) upstairs at the Co-op is busy building resources for the community to use. Its library of over 200 books and 50 dvds on topics ranging from natural building to solar electricity to organic gardening is one of the best in the Upper Valley. Its popular Third Thursday movie series has covered topics like Smart Meters, the food industry, and creative political action. The library also is home to Co-op newsletters, periodicals and resources. Want to learn more about your Co-op? Stop by during Open Hours.
Open Hours: The Sustainable Living Room is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 to 4pm and during posted Open Hours. Calendars listing the Open Hours are located online, in the store and at the Courtyard Entrance.
Since White River Junction has no library, the Quechee/Wilder Library allows you to order books online. Downstairs in the store, you can pick up these books you have ordered and drop off books you have borrowed in the grey drop box outside. The Quechee/Wilder library has provided a small bookcase in the Sustainable Living Room, of books they are giving away!
A comfortable chair with a reading lamp…you may sit and browse through any interesting book from the library. Do you have books or DVDs you no longer use? We are always looking for donations in the categories of Cooking, Food, Herbalism, Natural Health, Communities, Alternative Energy, Economics, Ecobuilding, Low Impact Living, Gardening, Farming, Social Action, Nature & Ecology, and Climate Change. Please leave them in the return basket under the suggestion box at the front end.
You may watch one of our DVDs, or order a book from the Quechee/Wilder Library.
