Grocery Manager
32-40 hours/week
We are looking for the next grocery manager to lead the grocery department of the Upper Valley Food Coop. While grocery management and buying experience would be preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate to eventually assume full responsibility for the duties listed below. Pay commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, a 20% in store discount, and medical insurance
Job Responsibilities
-
managing and supervising grocery staff, including staff trainings and performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, and hiring of the grocery staff in partnership with the Store Manager

overall fiscal performance of department, setting prices to meet margin goals, ensuring up to date pricing and labeling

placing product orders and ensuring that order deadlines are met

setting product mix and collaborating with GM on merchandising plans
-
performing floor duties including receiving and restocking product

ensuring inventory data is complete and accurate
Qualifications​
-
minimum 3 years retail buying and/or managing
-
previous management experience in a grocery setting preferred
-
passion for sustainable food and farming, and knowledge of local food makers
-
a positive attitude and an enthusiastic desire to provide storewide customer service
-
experience with Excel, Catapult, and proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring
profitability and managing inventory -
detail orientation and ability to communicate easily and often with team and managers
-
flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
-
a team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all store tasks
Full Charge Bookkeeper
30-35 hours/week
We are looking for a full charge bookkeeper to manage all aspects of accounting for the Co-op. Accounting/bookkeeping experience required. Pay commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical insurance, paid time off, and a 20% in store discount.

general journal entries

bank reconciliations

all general ledger work resulting in producing reliable monthly and quarterly financial statements
